It’s harder to make smart people click

Published on the 23rd February 2010

A study from online ad network Chitika concludes that the more education you have, the less likely you are to click through online advertising.

This conclusion was reached by analysing the education levels in each US state and comparing them to the average click throughs.

Massachusetts and Washington had the lowest click through rate and a higher rate of college education. On the other hand, West Virginia had the highest click through rate but lowest percentage of residents aged over 25 with college degrees.
