A new site, Please Rob Me, aggregates status update information posted to Twitter and foursquare and shows which users are not at home.
The intention of the site is to make people think about the information they are posting, rather than actually help thieves.
Foursquare have responded to the site by saying “we definitely ‘get’ the larger issue here – location is sensitive data and people should be careful about with whom and when they share it”.
We are pleased to say that our very own Alan Kewley, Account Director at BCM, was onto this twelve months ago with his post on what social networks mean for your security.
