The Sourcemap site allows anyone to contribute to a shared understanding of the story behind products, while letting people research the origins of the things they buy – with the intent of allowing them to make more sustainable choices.
Not only does it map individual materials, the site also gives an estimated carbon footprint for each based on the distance they had to travel before becoming part of the greater product.
