Last year, millions of YouTube users from around the world were encouraged to film a moment, an hour, or an entire day of their life on the 24th of July.
Not surprisingly, the YouTube community didn’t need much encouragement to turn the camera on themselves. The call-out received over 80,000 videos from 190 countries; some 4,500 hours of ordinary people doing such ordinary things as shaving, eating breakfast and playing with their children, as well as a few not-so-ordinary things like free-falling out of a plane, coming out to Grandma over the phone and biking around the world.
The footage has been culled into a 90-minute documentary called ‘Life in a Day’, with 25% of online ticket sales going to your favourite charity. This is one way to see the world, and with Ridley Scott involved you know it’s going to be amazing!
