Google Inc. and Delaware Brewery Dogfish Head have created a speciality beer using ingredients suggested by the search engine company’s employees from around the world.
The limited edition Belgian Dubbel-style beer contains ingredients such as amaranth from South America, green roobios tea from Africa, myrica gale from Europe, wattleseed from here in Australia, and even Google Honey from the bees that inhabit Google’s headquarters in California.
The project, conducted using Google products such as: Google Sites, Moderator, Hangouts, Docs and Apps has allowed Google employees from around the world to communicate with Dogfish Head and create their own unique beer. The beer, called URKontinent will be distributed by Dogfish Head if there is enough demand. Google has said that they will not be entering the beer-making business, but supports their employees love of brewing.
