Coat hangers are finally about to get exciting.
Clothing retailer 109 Men’s in Tokyo has introduced an exclusive line of interactive, socially-connected hangers in stores.
The hangers sync up with digital displays in the store and prompt videos to play when the clothes are picked up by shoppers. Picking up a shirt might prompt suggestions of what you could put with it, or even change the store’s music or lighting.
The hangers also provide a 20 second rundown on the item you’ve picked up telling you who it might appeal to, its aesthetic and what other products will compliment it. Shopping in the future? Yes please!
