President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali’s regime was overthrown earlier this year during the Tunisian revolution.
When a giant poster of Ben Ali appeared in Tunis, outraged passers by tore it down only to reveal a message underneath reminding locals to vote in the upcoming election to avoid a return of the dictatorship.
By anticipating public reactions, the surprise campaign achieved cut through and should see an increase in people filling in their ballot paper come election day.
