If you’ve ever taken an awesome photo on your iPhone and thought it might have a commercial value, this should definitely appeal to you.
Foap is a new stock photography market which curates the best supplied images from iPhone users. You can upload any suitable photo via the Foap application, and once approved by the sales team it can be sold to businesses for $40 (US) – and as a supplier, you get half that amount.
The aim is to provide users with more natural looking photos, sourced from a wider audience. Stock libraries are often not the best places to finding inspiring and unique photography so this service should at least provide a more organic product.
Whilst this is a Swedish company, Australia is the first market the product is launching into. An Android version is also rumoured to be in development.
