The Missing Children Society of Canada has recently launched the “World’s Most Valuable Social Network” campaign, calling upon people to “donate” their Facebook and Twitter news feeds and allow automatic post alerts be sent out about missing children.
Being dubbed as the “first ever online community search party”, the automatic messages are mobile friendly and geographically coded so users in Toronto, for example, will only have messages posted about kids in the area.
The first hours after a child goes missing are the most crucial, so what better way to utilise the power of social media and bring these children safely home.
